The 2023 Canyon AT4 and Colorado Trail Boss are one of the best-looking mid-size trucks ever made, yet still have the nose down rake that customizers desire to make more level, and bringing the front ride height up a bit more makes these trucks look even better. In stock form these trucks have a huge amount of droop travel at roughly 4-1/2”, stock ball joints, tie rods, and cv axles are not even close to maxed out yet. The price tag on these trucks is not low, but since the mid-sized trucks do cost less than the full-sized trucks, Cognito opted to develop a price friendly leveling kit that is a lot of bang for the buck, and cost far less than adding the OEM lift kit option.
A strut spacer is used to make the OEM shock assembly longer, which results in increased ride height. Additionally, a simple preload ring spacer is used to convert some of the droop travel into additional ride height, resulting in a total of 2” of front lift while maintaining nearly 4” of droop travel for ride quality that matches stock.
The 2023 Canyon AT4X and Colorado ZR2 already have a 1” taller ride height up front than the above mentioned, and this was done by GM via preloading the spring more. These models have 3-1/2” of droop travel, 1” less than the above but 1” more ride height than the above. Therefore, the included preload ring spacers will not be used on these models since we do not want to reduce droop travel any further, and they would not fit the Multimatic DSSV struts anyway. The overall length of the front strut is the same as the AT4/Trail Boss, so we can increase that length with the included billet strut spacers to gain 1” of additional front ride height on the AT4X/ZR2 models. This model will still have a bit of nose down rake, since it also has a factory lift block in the rear. The net result is a more level stance with a factory ride which is really good with the Multimatic DSSV dampers.
